About Me
Hello! My name is Carolyn Hacker. I have taught 10 years. (5 in public school and 5 in a Charter School). I taught all 10 years in Southwest Florida and have taught grades Kindergarten through Fourth grade. I just completed my 5th consecutive year teaching Kindergarten and I have to say Kindergarten is my FAVORITE grade to teach!
About Me
My Approach to Teaching
I believe everyday is a new day, hands-on learning, and my students make me a better teacher! I am always looking for new approaches to better help the needs of my students. I am not afraid to go out of my comfort zone to try new things. I am VERY creative and enjoy creating lessons for my students. I want to make a difference in my student’s lives and motivate them!
How did I choose Teaching?
Teaching has always been a passion for me. I used to role play and “teach” my younger brother and sister. I would ask my teacher for extra worksheets so I could bring them home. I also has an AMAZING Kindergarten teacher who was nurturing. I still remember making Stone Soup and I has hurt my hand. She picked me up and rocked me in her rocking chair until I stopped crying. I was so touched by the experience that I remember that moment like it was yesterday! I also had a GROOVY 4th grade teacher who was hilarious. I was a struggling reading and I hated to read! I was in the “low” group. To motivate the class, he said if everyone turned in their book report he would dress up and dance. He brought the class together as a family and we all worked together to get our book reports done. He came in and blasted the music and danced on the table! I don’t think I laughed so hard in my life! The hair piece, the clothing, and the dancing on the table! HAHA
Next Chapter
I have taken my passion for creating material for my students to a new level! I have now began making resources and posting them to Teachers Pay Teachers. I am blogging, making Facebook Live Videos, YouTube Video Tutorials, and Tutoring. As you can imagine, that keeps me pretty busy! I am now have decided to make this my FULL time job and I am loving every minute of it!
