I’m excited to share with you my NEW January Centers! I have updated my Sensory Bin product to include ALL the Recording sheets you see here. I bought most of my items on AMAZON! [2 day shipping]
I have to say the kids are having a BLAST!
This game can be used various ways and skills.
I used this center to review previous taught sight words. (Quarter 1-2). The students read the sight word and then hit the ice. The student who breaks the ice and knocks down the penguin loses.

Center 2: Light Table
I have the students look at our Word Wall and create the sight words. I used Dollar Store Ice cube packs and mitten ice cube grabbers to make it Wintery!

Center 3: Water Table
I purchased penguins off of Amazon. Then wrote with a silver sharpie on the top of the penguin (word family) and the small penguins the CVC words. Students had to read the penguins and sort them to the correct word family.

Center 4: Water Bead Center
I purchased the clear water beads, the scoopers, and blue tiles on Amazon.
This center was used in various ways depending on the skill level of the child. My MTSS student had to place 3 letter tiles in ABC order. While another child was making CVC and nonsense words. My higher achieving student was taking the CVC words and adding silent e to words. They each had different recording sheets but used the same materials!

Center 5: Fake Snow + Snowman
I purchased the “insta snow” and rubber ducky snowmen on Amazon.
I wrote CVC words (using a sharpie) on the bottom on the snowman. The student read the CVC word to their partner. If they got it right they wrote the word on their recording sheet. Once they finished their recording sheet, they got to play in the snow!

Center 6: Fake Snow + gems
I purchased the “insta snow” and gems on Amazon. I found this bin at Home Depot for $12!
I wrote sight words (using a sharpie) on the gems. The student read the sight words to their partner. If they got it right they wrote the word on their recording sheet. Once they finished their recording sheet, they got to try to build a snowman in the BIG sensory tub!
Center 7: Penguin
I purchased the penguins and gems on Amazon.
I wrote sight words (using a sharpie) on the gems. The student read the sight words to their partner and completed the recording sheet.

Center 8: Write the Room
I purchased the ski glasses on Amazon.
My Florida Kindergartners have NEVER seen snow, so they thought these glasses were the coolest thing ever! The students walk around with the recording sheet and clipboard finding ALL the words! This center comes with words AND sentences so you can differentiate!
Snag Winter Write the Room here
You can find all the recording sheets plus a ton more here!
Not ready to buy that huge water or sand table yet? But want to try out Sensory Bins?!? Try this FREEBIE with little prep! Grab some cotton balls and print/laminate the snowballs. Then place them in a small tub and have students take turns taking a snowball and saying the blend. You can work on 2 blend or multiple to increase difficulty. Last, print off the recording sheet to keep the students accountable. Just that easy!
Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoyed my blog. Have a question or comment? Let me know!
