NEW YEAR’S FREEBIE!

Get ready to celebrate New Years with your students with these FUN and engaging themed activities!

I begin the day with a New Year’s hat for morning work. Your Students will love this New Year Hat!

There are multiple choices so you can pick the best hat hat works for your class.

There is also a written version hat to set goals and reflect!

I made these decodable readers to help my emergent readers. We practice reading left to right, review high frequency sight words, sentences and becoming aware of punctuation.

This is the perfect time to learn and practice reading strategies. They rely on pictures and contextual clues to understand the text. This is where I can tie in vocabulary words

After practicing our reading skills, we must have a writing themed New Year’s activity!

This includes multiple levels of difficulty [brainstorming page, tracing/ fill in sentence, list, and lines to make up their own sentence].

Now you can’t forget about CENTERS! [My favorite time of the day!] I added a sensory bin of course! 😉 I made alphabet and sight word cards so I could differentiate for my class. Every student goes to this center. I keep this center all week.

The center includes cards, “I can” posters and recording sheets to keep students engaged and focused.

The word center includes editable cards so you can type your own sight words you want to focus on!

We are working hard on addition facts in math! So I thought why not incorporate them into sensory bins too! I included multiple levels of addition. This would work for Prek-2nd grade! Grab this FREEBIE!

Add black beans, glasses, blowers, necklaces, hats, streamers, etc themed items. Can be found at party stores, Wal-Mart, and dollar stores.

Keep students accountable with the recording sheet included.

I hope you have an AMAZING New Year! As always, thank you for taking the time to read and check out my blog =)
