How to use this?
Copy these sheets front to back and have an example made projecting on the board. These sheets are made for students to complete independently. These 1st week sheets are more geared to coloring and tracing while the 2nd week is more academically with identify and writing letters.
Why these sheets and not morning tubs?
The first two weeks is crucial to maintaining classroom management, getting students in their seats focused on a task, all while you get the students into the classroom safely. I spend the first 2 weeks on rules and procedures, I teach HOW to do morning tubs/centers before I have them out for the kids. They learn how to clean up, where materials are located, and expectations.
What’s Included?
1st week:
- 7 sheets (Question/picture to color and drawing question)
- 7 sheets (Coloring page and tracing a word from around the school) – classroom, cafeteria/lunch room, library, clinic, office, and recess.
2nd Week:
- 6 sheets (Write my name, trace and write letters (all 26 letters), and identify colors)
- 6 sheets (Write my name, and identify the letter by color coding them) The color code crayons are blank so you can choose the colors for the students OR let them choose their favorite colors!
