I Spy CVC Words Literacy Center – Groundhog’s Day Edition

Are you looking for an engaging way to practice CVC words or short vowels in Literacy centers? Need an independent center? Hands-on and easy prep?

There are 40 cards with Groundhog pictures. Hidden in the pictures are small CVC words. The students will use magnifying glasses to “spy” the words. They will use expo markers to circle them and then check off the ones they find. Once they found all on the card, they erase their check marks and circle. This center can be used again and again!

Also included is “I can” Poster to explain directions for this Literacy center.

There is also 2 Versions. 1. Student mark off the words found. 2. Students trace the words they found.

Each card has 5 CVC words on it. Each card has 1 short a,e, i, o, u word to find in the picture.
